The Future Network is Open and Automated
Network automation is where the software automatically configures, provisions, manages, and tests network devices. It is used by CSPs to improve efficiency, reduce human errors, and reduce operating expenses. Tools support functions such as simple basic network mapping and device discovery, to more difficult functions like network configuration management and the delivery of virtual resources.
Network automation also is essential for software-defined networking, network virtualization, and network orchestration (MANO), enabling automated provisioning of virtual network functions, such as virtual load balancing.
