Mavenir’s Virtual Cell Site Router (vCSR)

Mavenir’s Virtual Cell Site Router (vCSR) replaces the physical cell site router with a cloud-native network function (CNF) running on the Open RAN DU server, on common-off-the-shelf (COTS) servers. For CSPs this means fewer cell site devices to power, fewer cables and points of failure and more data throughput per watt, lowering operation and management overhead, and liberating rack space that can be used for incremental revenue generating applications.

Mavenir Deal with Cohere Seeks to ‘Turbocharge’ 4G, 5G

Cohere Technologies and Mavenir have agreed to collaborate on transitioning from proprietary radio access network (RAN) to open RAN solutions for 4G, 5G and Cohere’s new technology called Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS). Mavenir has developed an O-RAN Alliance-compliant Radio Access Network Intelligent Controller (O-RIC), while Cohere is undergoing several trials with network operators.
