ip.access Deploys PRESENCE™ Solution with O2 UK For Cellular Micro-Proximity Customer Analytics

Cambridge and London, UK – 20 November 2017 – Following successful customer deployments and trials, today ip.access, a Mavenir company since September 2020, announces it has signed a partnership agreement with O2 to deliver micro-proximity customer analytics through the ip.access PRESENCE™ solution.

Over the last year, O2 has deployed PRESENCE sensors into selected enterprise customer properties across a range of market segments, including differing use-case applications in Retail, Banking, Transport, Stadia and Tourism. The PRESENCE sensors incorporate 3G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS technologies that enable O2 to recognise subscribers as they enter chosen customer sites. The sensor data is anonymised to ensure it fits within the operator’s privacy and permissions frameworks to guarantee end-user privacy.

PRESENCE sensors gather rich analytical data which provide actionable behavioural insights for businesses who want to truly understand who visits their venues, as well as the ability to provide targeted campaigns at a level of granularity that has not been previously possible. Importantly, the technology does not require any handset modifications or applications, nor does it need Bluetooth or Wifi to be switched on, making it a universal solution across all handsets.

Robert Franks, Director of Digital at O2 commented, “We are pleased to work with ip.access to add cellular micro-proximity to our capabilities.  With rich data insight, PRESENCE™ enables us to help our customers in a variety of sectors understand what factors influence people visiting certain locations.”

“We are delighted with the success achieved in our joint engagement with O2 to date,” explains Malcolm Gordon, CEO at ip.access. “We will continue supporting the operation in the UK with our outstanding technology and service capabilities, and I look forward to expanding this success.”
