Deutsche Telekom’s NIMS – Automation Fuels the Telco Cloud Transformation
Deutsche Telecom (DT) Technology cares about improving people’s lives. To gain speed, automation is used to reduce errors. The benefit is less redundant work for DT and more focus on a great customer experience. Hear from DT and the partners involved with their NIMS project as they highlight their experiences at the virtual Telekom Tech Grounds during the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, 2021.
The Next-generation IMS (NIMS) project involves cloud automation for voice production. Looking at the classic approach to voice production in the telco industry, DT saw lots of room for improvement. A high degree of vendor dependency, coupled with silo building, was eliminated as they successfully rebuilt the voice production system using software in the DT cloud. DT is a pioneer, making their vision a reality. The vision is called the 3-2-1-0:
- 3 months for each product development
- 2 days to pilot new software end-to-end across the network
- 1 day to validate functional enhancements
- 0 night shifts to deploy new software and functions on the live network
Mavenir is proud to have been one of the partners who helped power this vision, designing new automation capabilities that are shaping the digital future. In this webinar, you’ll hear how DT has already achieved a significant milestone; many customers have been migrated, and it’s growing each day. A new, disaggregated, vendor agnostic architecture and a radical degree of automation has modernized the DT working processes and created a new vendor ecosystem.
A journey no one believed was possible, is now a reality.
