Virtualization of the RAN is a Key Part of the Move to 5G

To deploy 5G operators need to re-think how they will re-architect the network for key parameters such as latency, service quality, and cost reduction. Architectures such as Cloud RAN enable major cost reductions saving mobile operators 49 percent in capital costs and 31 percent in annual operating costs, compared to traditional RAN implementations.
