The MSC TAS enables VoIP service from any existing mobile core network based on standard MSC. The MSC TAS solution can best be described as a SIP BSC/RNC (Base Station Controller/Radio Network Controller) that provides IP-based network connectivity for SIP-enabled VoIP devices. Mavenir's seamless overlay solution connects to the existing MSC via open standard A Interface. To further add to the simplicity of the solution, the mobile operator uses the existing IN services, provisioning and billing systems for VoIP services.
In the IMS
model, the SIP BSC/RNC connects to any standard compliant IMS core S-CSCF
as an application server. In this model, the MSC in combination with
the Mavenir SIP BSC/RNC acts as a Telephony Application Server (TAS).
All Mavenir products, including application servers and gateways, are deployed on the ATCA-based, award winning, Mavenir mOne Convergence Platform.
