Mavenir Redefines Mobile Core, Targets Converged Services
RICHARDSON, TEXAS and Barcelona, Spain, February 16, 2009 — Mavenir Systemsannounced today at GSMA World Congress that it has been selected
by three Tier 1 mobile operators, across North America, Europe and Asia, to deploy its
next generation mobile core solutions and introduce rich communication services while
lowering operator costs with a converged IMS core network.

two issues at the same time – maintain a competitive service portfolio, while controlling
CAPEX and OPEX. Mavenir fulfills both requirements, eventually taking the legacy core

Mavenir's Converged Voice solutions provide mobile voice services to any existing and
new devices. Mobile VoIP extends MSC voice, IN and SMS services consistently across
IP domains and eliminates the need for an overlay VoIP core. Operators see rapid ROI
to launch VoIP over broadband, LTE or WiMAX access.
Mavenir is also expanding the innovative IMS Centralized Services (ICS) solution, now
standardized in 3GPP Release 8, with the industry first Mobile Telephony Application
Server (TAS), to provide ubiquitous mobile voice services across all 2G, 3G, LTE mobiles
and IMS devices from a single converged core. Operators can accelerate smooth
transition to an all IMS core network, offering lower costs and enhanced services.
Converged Messaging solutions provide the next generation alternative for legacy and
silo mobile messaging core components with instant cost savings and increased SMS,
MMS and application generated messaging handling capacity. Mavenir has an installed
capacity to carry in excess of 2 Billion messages per day.
The same Converged Messaging core introduces mobile social networking for subscribers
based on OMA Presence and Instant Messaging standards with an integrated IMS core.
Presence provides a powerful network capability for 3rd party apps such as gaming and
media sharing to leverage user context, location and buddy list information in a trusted
operator environment.
