The founding fathers envisioned open interfaces, but what we need to make sure of is the definition of open interfaces evolves with technology. As we move through 4G to 5G, and eventually 6G, standards need to be open and that’s got to be a message to the whole community. We should all really ensure that interfaces don’t become controlled by any one large incumbent and to the extent that the consumer loses the benefit of open and interoperable technology.
