IP SMSC

Solution Components and Features:

Universal Message Router (UMR):

The Universal Message Router provides intelligent, optimized routing and first delivery attempt (FDA) to immediately deliver traffic for a majority of the subscribers. The router provides cost savings by eliminating network bottlenecks and inherently adding SMS capacity without purchasing expensive legacy SMSC and MMSC upgrades. Flexible interfaces to HLR, HSS, Mavenir's SPS, ENUM, and LDAP make it a powerful platform for operators to optimize their messaging traffic routing. This also increases network resiliency which can cope with mass market applications such as voting and information delivery. In the IMS framework, the router will offload SMS over SIP to offload SS7 backhaul networks.

Messaging or SMPP Gateway:

The Messaging Gateway has advanced capabilities to manage the traffic and bridge the disparity across application and content network architectures. Its content provider management features, filtering algorithm, subscriber based feature invocation and on-board routing capability provide sustained quality of service for content providers and their customers even in peak traffic situations. Coupled with the IP-SM gateway application the solution handles all forms of messaging, such as SMS, MMS, IM and Email, providing dynamic adaptation for client and device agnostic messaging.

Rich Messaging Server (RMS):

The Rich Messaging Server combines a rich and proven feature set with the flexibility of rules-based service logic to offer a suite of applications for both SMS and IMS combined on a single platform. SMS Value Added Services are based on a combination of functions that include intelligent routing using personalized profiles, 3rd party service treatment, message copying, scheduling and adaptation to provide a rich set of end user features. Open interfaces allow operator to introduce new services at a faster pace than possible with closed, silo based legacy SMSC infrastructure.

Subscriber Provisioning System (SPS):

SPS is a subscriber database to store and manage personalized services and routing policies for subscriber SMS traffic. Based on the principles of HSS, Mavenir has uniquely merged the service delivery capability of 3GPP/2 IMS core for enhancing SMS services delivery over any mobile network today. The SPS supports various interfaces including DIAMETER to interface with Mavenir’s UMR in order to process SMS traffic for Value Added Services.

Message Store / XDMS / Content Server:

Message Store is a XML based storage system to store and archive messages in the network. While the reality in today’s network is that a significant majority of messages are delivered instantly, justifying the need to introduce the routing layer, some messages still require store and retry of the Message Store, to provide comprehensive SMSC functionality in the network. Storage can also be used to archive and access both text and multimedia messages on demand if desired by the subscriber’s personal profile.

mView Reporting Server:

Mavenir's mView Reporting Server offers a sophisticated log storage and report generation capabilities to empower operators to monitor and manage their messaging network with greater ease.
